The Girls Working Together, Bamboozled At Doctors Office, and Bank Telling Me I'm Late, I'm Not Late, You Were Slow

The girls are going tomorrow to teach rollerskating, together. The head teacher just had a baby, so the girl is stepping up in her stead, the wife is the girls helper, oh my! The wife is a rollerskating goddess in these parts, the girl is gaining fast.I sure hope their styles match up or this could be a strained atmosphere around here. I'm thinking of going on a road trip to avoid any tensions here.

I was in the "recovery" room at the spine doctors yesterday, done been slice and diced, just waiting for the OK to head out. This young girl came in, started to explain how my new tens stimulator worked, put this here, this is up, this is down, and this is off. BOOM! She jumped into the back brace I need to wear, but I stopped her there, said one thing at a time. I didn't want the wife's co-workers to know my measurements. Funny thing is the doctor didn't mention either of these things? I think I got caught in a shell game, the girl is there to sell these things. I need to find out if I need this, or if I looked like one of those Bugs Bunny skits where he looked like giant Suckers!

Pay bills electronically, we love it, works for us. Got a notice in the mail today, said we were late on our mortgage, and that a hefty fee was being assessed. I checked my records, got my confirmation number, call the bank. They explained to me that when I submitted my payment on 2/7/10, it was delivered by 2/10/10. My payment is due between the 1st and the 15th. OK, done, except it snowed and they were closed. They didn't open the payment until 2/17/10, 2 days late. She waived the late fee, suggested I pay more attention to when I mail things. I chose not to tell her to bite me, but promised I would mark my calender when blizzards are predicted, and she may be off.

Multiple Sclerosis, Weather, Housing Crisis, and Help Getting Up

The weather did its flip flop, the meteorologist dude didn't miss this one, just my luck. I am drained, haven't done a single thing, doesn't look like I will either. With a high of 56 today, it has the potential for a 40 degree swing in temperature in 1 day! I suppose I'm getting to the point that I will need to create a sealed enviro for myself, keep a constant year round temp and all. Next thing you know I'll have Kleenex boxes on my feet and store bottles of urine!

The wife and I went for a drive last night. We toured all the newer sections of Perry Hall, something you can't do in a few minutes. It was scary how many houses were for sale, or appeared empty. It is also apparent that most of the new home owners wanted little, or no yards at all. Don't get me started on the size of these houses either, most appear to be the kind where you can brag about your square footage, that is until the bank took it away! We had a good time, but not as good as coming home, and we can still afford to live here, and take rides!

I need a device to help me get up out of the chair in the living room, where I sit most of the time. They sell things called chair risers, but most of them look a little flimsy to me. They also sell furniture leg extenders, to raise the height of the chair. I think I like these better, I need help getting my legs past that 90 degree angle where I can more slide off the chair if that makes sense? I feel like a weight lifter who is trying to lock out his legs every time I stand up.

The Parade of Gold, Congratulations Michael Phelps

Wow, Michael Phelp's won like 100 medals or something, pretty impressive. Maybe the taxpayers will build him a swimming complex like they built Cal Ripken a baseball one? Sounds like quite a blast down at the old Fort McHenry, a good time had by all. It has to be a gala, Billy Bush is the emcee for Pete's sake! The County Executive for Baltimore threw Michael a big Blast the last time he came home, naming a street after him if I remember. They are also giving him a parade in Towson, Michael's hometown. Who is paying for this, by the way? Surely my state and local government aren't paying for it, meaning me?

Come on, are we that starved for celebrities that we need to spend the kind of money they are going to fork out? I'd probably go, but I can't afford the gas to get down there! I don't see any sponsors anywhere on the web page? They do have the County, City, and State seals at the end, does that mean it's there because it's their ball? Cool, the new economic plan has already worked in Baltimore! I'm glad to see we have taken care of all the people who need help, the ones who are having a hard time. We must have, we are giving welcome home parties to celebrities, that must come after, right?

Sadly, no it doesn't come first that we help people in need. Michael is an ambassador to China, we all know what that means. Wait, what does that mean? Is China going to fill all the empty business parks along Rte. 43? Because Michael lives here is China going to buy up more of our debt then they do say Florida? The city sure doesn't have anything more important then an "atta boy" for an Olympian. Am I the only one that doesn't get it? Is the rest of Maryland, nay the country, so enamored by famous people that it's anything goes? I suppose so, but anyway, way to go Mike!

Vitamin D Therapy, Financial Bailout, and Hand Surgery

We took the boy for a second opinion to the Union Memorial Hand clinic. They told us he was ugly too! No, seriously, I kid, that's what I am, a kidder! Anyway, we did take him today, and they told us what we feared, he needs surgery to correct his broken finger. He will go in on Tuesday to have a plate and a couple of screws put in to correct the break. He is devastated to say this least. This knocks him out of badminton for the entire year, and will dramatically delay his being able to qualify for the nationals in bowling. It's hard to convince a 16 year old that this isn't the worst thing that will ever happen.

I on the other hand am doing great! My surgery is all healed and I'm ready for rock climbing. The vitamin D is doing its thing, I think, and I'm due another dose tomorrow. I'm in limbo waiting to see if I am feeling any difference or not? I'm looking into what exactly it is that I should be feeling. The neuro didn't tell me that, just take this pill once a week. Vitamin D is the new magic bean, being used for a wide variety of illnesses. I sure hope I haven't put all my hopes on a one size fits all cure?

Who can explain this whole bail out thing to me? How can half of both side be against each one of the drafts? Are we, the average guy getting screwed or not? Somebody is lying to us, but I defy anyone to prove to me who it is! Do any of these plans have a snowballs chance in hell of working, or are we just being whipped into a frenzy, again, to pay for something without question, and without input? Let me know what you think, and let me know what path this should follow.

Multiple Sclerosis, Vitamin D, and Shootings in Perry Hall

I have to get more info about the meds I put in my body. I was all excited that the neuro told me I was deficient in vitamin D, then I found out there are like 3 kinds they use, even a special one for fat guys! I'm going to find out if I got that one, then ask the neuro what gives! I'm not fat, I'm just big boned. Man, no respect, even my doctor is calling me a lard ass! My D says it's 50,000 IU, is that a good one, I don't know.

I sure hope this increased feeling of numbness is normal. It keeps getting more pronounced too. I feel like crap, but I keep hoping it's the beginning of something good. My PCP is going to think I'm crazy. I hounded her for a prescription of for LDN and she gave it to me. I have a 4 week check up with her and have yet to take a single pill! I still think it's the right decision to only do one at a time, but it's hard to not to double up. I just hope I'm reading my body right, and this is the way it is supposed to go.

Hold on Dexter, a shooting in Perry Hall? I don't think so! It was after the Monday night football game, probably a Steelers fan acting the fool. It was right down at the bar behind our cemetery plots. Although shootings aren't unheard of around here, unfortunately, they are rare. With the smoking ban in all bars and restaurants, it has a created a lot of hanging around outside, kind of like loitering? I have seen 2 fights at the bar next to the bowling alley with the crowds standing around. Come on people, this is Perry Hall, not Orleans Street downtown, knock it off!

I also don't like all the empty houses and all the ones for sale in PH. We should string up all these mortgage companies that helped cause this mess with the banks. They should pass a law making it illegal to broker loans and immediately sell them. I also hope any bail out talks have plans to go after those brokers to get the money they made off of the morons that bought these million dollar houses in PH that they knew they couldn't afford!

Another bad news day!

It's official! It must be me? Checking today, I see that another major "news" website has the same type of information as the others. Once more there is no mention of our wars, no mention of casualties, no mention of a plan. I see Britney Spears is making a comeback though, and may I say it is about time! That comforts me in these hard times.

I see baseball is considering instant replay. That should speed things up nicely. Pet owners settled with makers of tainted food, I was worried that one was going to drag on as long as, I don't know, the wars? I see the Germans are organizing nude air flights. That's what I said, nude, as in nekid! We can learn about celebs hooking up, breaking up, and even cracking up.

Wouldn't it be nice to see something about the mortgage disaster? When I say that I don't mean seeing what the feds are going to do to help all of these people who took on mortgages they knew they couldn't afford. Heavens no, that would be awful if we held people accountable for their actions. I'd like to see them go after the mom and pop mortgage companies that popped up to take advantage of the housing boom. Yep, some of these mortgage companies made a killing. You know the the ones, they didn't have offices, they didn't have money to lend, they were subcontractors, finding mortgages for people making 30G's who wanted to buy a 800G home! Most were just tied into Realtor offices, cut out the middle man, that's how I made my money!

No one ever explained to me that a housing boom actually meant things were going to blow up in our faces! We should demand that these new millionaires, and they made millions, be held responsible and pay for the glut of foreclosure they helped cause. Again, where do I get a button for that? What political person do I call? Times like these, you know what I mean, times you want to scream, I like to take a long drive. That ain't happening! Gas is higher then the foreclosure rate! Man the newsies and politicians better hope I don't buy a button making machine!
