Back On Baclofen, Mood Has Been Great

Had to give into that Baclofen gods, the cramps and spasms proved to be too much.  I went from sleeping the best I ever had, to sleeping in hour increments for maybe a few hours.  Not sleeping was effecting my mood, and I'm a very pleasant person dammit!  It was great having the use of the right hand, but not at that cost.  So, lowest dose possible, seems to have worked for cramps, but can feel the hand weakening already.

Speaking of mood, mine has really been great!  Can't put my finger on it, suppose it's the decision to take care of myself better, feeling better as a result of losing the weight.  Both kids have commented how happy I seem, I thought they ignored me like a piece of furniture!  Maybe it's taking care of business, maybe finishing old business, maybe it's none of my business?  I'm betting it all rests in having the love of a good woman, thanks baby!

Still Wahls/Paleo Diet, Go Orioles

3 months, about 10 days into my Wahls/paleo diet, have dropped 75 lbs, have about the same amount to go.  The rate of fall is starting to slow, sure it will go slower from here on, but it's worth it.  Had started to give in, was giving up on things, decided it wasn't time yet.  Completely off of the Baclofen now, good news-bad news effect.  Having the leg cramps every 30 seconds or so, last for 10-15 seconds, but my right hand is the most use in years, tough choice.

O-R-I-O-L-E-S!  We are making a run baby, yes final week and we are still playing!   The boy, like many Baltimore folk are fair weather fans, loving them now, hating them the last 15.  I on the other hand have been loyal, even through the worst of times, and man, have we had our share of those.  So to the O's, good luck, and thanks for 162 days of something to do!

Mother In Law Doing Great, Eating Healthy, Feeling Better?

What a wild ride the last few weeks have been!  The mother in law is doing great, she is amazing.  Memory isn't back 100%, may never be?  What we do see are flashes from the past, her setting the table, being alert, well rested, it's great!  We are doing the cooking for them right now, trying to get into a rhythm and figure out how we are going to proceed.  Sure is more encouraging than her dosing off all day, showing no interest in anything.

My new way of eating is still a success, I must be 3 years into by now?  Lost a ton of weight, trying to figure out how I fell.  The right hand I was talking about in July doing so well, it's broken here in August.  Trying to figure out if I should ween myself off of the Baclofen?  The hand is almost paralyzed, lucky I'm not driving, don't know I could express myself to other driver!  I'm sticking with it, not a single slip in 2 months.

Stuck In My Lazyboy, And I can Touch My Thumb To My Pinky

Had something funny happen this morning, I say funny, though it didn't make me laugh straight out of the gate.  Was sitting in my favorite chair, an old, beat up, lazyboy, that is contoured perfectly to my rear end.  Had my legs up, reading Sherlock Holmes on my kindle, not a care in the world.  I goes to get up and SNAP, the handle breaks off of the chair!  Picture it, feet in the air, can't get out of the chair, and was on my way to the loo!  Should have seen my dismount, worthy of a 10, even from the Russian judge!

You know the test the neuro gives you every time you go to see them, touch your thumb to each one of your fingers, as fast as you can?  It's been some time now since I've been able to touch the ring and pinky finger on my right hand.  Noticed today I can match my thumb to the ring finger full on, and the pinky I can at least touch.  Not sure what it means, or why it happened, but I'm taking it as a sign the diet is helping, pass the kale!

No Eggs For Me, and I Want A Dog

Down to 297, sounds more like an interstate than weight?  Reintroduced eggs yesterday, felt horrible, had an ache in my belly.  I think it was leaky gut?  What is leaky gut?  Sounds like you would be eviscerated, not something that happens after eating eggs.  Read the problem is in the egg white, a problematic protein, I can live with that.  What does anyone know about nightshades causing a problem?  Not eating MD tomatoes in July is just wrong.

For the first time since I was a kid I want a dog.  I had the greatest dog in the world when I was a kid, Bunky.  That's me holding Bunky, my dad holding Gypsy.  He used to wait for my mother to go inside, then jump over the fence and hang himself with his leash, cool dog!  I want a rescue dog, but I want Kerry Blue Terrier too.  It gets lonely after all this time, 16 years at home, you run out of things to do.  I found one at a shelter, but it's 100 miles away.  We will figure it out, hopefully not that far away.

Into Second Week Of Wahl's Diet, Planted The Wrong Garden

Seems like it's been 6 years since I started my diet, usually I'd mark such an occasion with a big ole hunkering cake!  But those were the old days.  Now I am having vegetable smoothies or almonds to pass the time.  Added no eggs or nightshades to the regimen, although I had to look up what a nightshade was.  Makes my six tomato plants seem like a huge waste, but I don't know any other way of doing an elimination diet than eliminating things.  Not feeling incredible yet, but have lost 25 lbs, down to a svelte 300.

So my garden this year, planted prior to new eating plan, is loaded with things I'm not eating.  I have tomatoes, green, yellow, and jalapeno peppers, all of which are nightshades.  I have peas, green beans, potatoes, and corn.  Right now I'm only able to have the cabbage, swiss chard, and lettuce.  Worry that as long as I am burning fat I will be burning the bad things out of my system, not allowing me to know when my system is reset.  Be nice to have my biggest worry be that I was burning too much fat.

Wahls Diet, Neuromuscular Stimulation For MS

OK, day 3 of my Wahls/Paleo diet.  I am either feeling great, or I'm going to die?  Going through massive withdraw, no sugar, caffeine, wheat, or legumes.  Do you go through wheat and legume withdraw?  Living in the bathroom, I suppose that's a good thing, good stuff in, bad stuff out.  I'm waiting on Dr Wahl's book to be delivered, want to find out as much as I can.  Take a look at A Stellarlife, she interviewed Dr Wahls back in 2009.  I do miss Lays potato chips, not sure if kale chips will ever replace them?

Curious about muscle stimulation to build mass and strength?  Along with diet, Dr Wahls did use neuromuscular stimulation, I think I have an old tens unit laying around someplace.  I should be able to just hook it up and let 'er rip!  Probably a bit more to it than that, but the wife works for a pain management joint, she should be able to hook me up.  My Bioness let stimulator has an exercise setting, probably the same principle.  Who doesn't love the surge of electrical current through their bod?
