Multiple Sclerosis, Time Out For My Legs, and Ignorant People

Boy, did I have a busy weekend! I'm not used to being on the go so much, either is my body. I'm really tired today, both physically and mentally. I'm also having cramps real bad in my right foot, really bad on top of my foot. I need to remember that I have a problem with an increase in activity, especially going from no activity! I have this problem where if I get overheated from activity, or have said activity for a prolonged period, the numbness is almost total the next day. Prolonged activity includes standing at a reunion for a long time, or being the enter, do not enter cop at a rec council skating show, and guess what? Today is the next day, but boy was it worth it!

Let me tell you what I think about people in general. In general, I very much dislike the average person. Society, for the most part, has jumped the track and is heading straight to hell. I think of the things I see on a regular basis. People don't RSVP anymore, they don't keep their word, and they don't think rules apply to them. The skating show this weekend was a prime example. The program asked them to please refrain from leaving their seats until after the performance, I know, because it was my voice on the tape telling them. There was one particular family that was the clear winner of the worst family at the show award. They talked through the entire show, loudly, except during their child's part. They also kept not only leaving their seats, but leaving the building! I think you should be able to give those people the bums rush out the door, and that's just what I will do when I rule the world!

I too get the foot cramps and boy are they painful! I find the only thing that helps me endure them (because getting rid of them is nearly impossible!) is to place my bare foot flat on a linoleum floor and press down. Sometimes it takes about ten minutes for it to feel normal again and sometimes I have to hold my foot in place for up to five minutes but it is worth it.

The only thing worse than foot cramps is leg cramps which I have eliminated with glucosamine/chondroitin caps.

Numb spots however are here to stay. I have started Neurotin in the past month and it does help with the pain of neuropathy, but it doesn't go away.

I hope you weather the foot cramps out well. Try the linoleum floor remedy. It works for me.

Thanks Anne, I will give the kitchen floor a try. I started 3 months ago taking LDN and it all but got rid of the cramps. Since I started with the Bioness stimulator, they returned, usually after using it in exercise mode?

If it happens again tonight, my base of operation may shift to the kitchen, thanks

andy, society in general has, in effect, lost its mind, hasn't it? our grandparents & great-grandparents are spinning in their graves, i'm sure!
i'm very fortunate, i live in a city of about 40,000, i know there's bad parts of town & rotten people here somewhere, but it seems like you get the attitude you give out here! and my part of town is filled with good people, if you just are open to them. i'm very blessed, and happy i live here!

I feel like there are 40,000 people living in my house sometimes! Don't get me wrong, they aren't bad people, most of them, they are just rude and self centered. I wish they would get used to the idea that they are not the center of the universe, that's my place!

I am wholly with you on the lack of manners, courtesy and respect people give each other and fail to teach their children, creating another generation even less caring.

I hope Anne's method relieves the cramps or the muscles quit protesting on their own.

Sometimes just standing on any cold surface will help with cramps. I saw that on a British comedy show. It does work for some people.

If it helps me I'm putting linoleum through the entire house!
