Multiple Sclerosis, Bioness Stimulator, and a Hopeful Outlook

I went and got the stim calibrated today and it is so cool! I am able to walk without the cane, actually better without the cane, for the first time in a while with confidence. I will need to build the strength in the right leg, and the left for that matter, I usually take them both with me when I go out! I also need to get comfortable putting it on in the right place. If the sensors aren't in the right spot, all you get is a steady jolt of electricity down your leg, and though not painful, it's hardly useful. I got to walk all around today, it was cool, exciting, and a bit scary.

This is a big thing for me, one that I worry about what I will do if it doesn't work. The alternative is back to the brace full time, and continued loss of mobility. I don't expect this to make me feel like I don't have MS, but it would be nice to be able pretend I don't for a while. I have a lot of work ahead of me, more learning, and even more adapting to what comes next. I'm lucky to have a lot of people behind me hoping for the best, now it's my job to take advantage of it. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, something that doesn't happen so often anymore. I'm looking forward to it because I have something to do that should not only be fun, it is important too. I had a really good day.

Good luck, Andy. Sound likes a great start. Do the sensors tend to stay in place once you've got them there?
I'll keep reading and hoping for you.

I will have to get back to you about the sensors, being my second day, and limited wear at that, I don't know yet. I need to practice putting it on so I hit the right spot.
