Baseball Only For Those That Can Afford Cable

Time for baseball playoffs again, seems the Orioles just missed making it yet another year. I'm giving the family my weekly rant about getting rid of cable when I noticed, the playoffs are on TBS! If I get rid of cable, no playoffs, and further more, no more Orioles next year. So baseball, America's game, the nation past time, is only available to people who either can afford, or choose to have cable? Whaaaa? That just ain't right, actually a little embarrassing when you think of al the people that fall into the category of not being able to afford it.

You're so right, Andy. Plus I don't like the TBS commentators. My Phillies (a fan since I was 3 yrs. old) are in the playoffs again, but I try to catch most of it on radio because I love hearing our commentators -- they make it exciting not a huge yawn. If we win the NLDS and make it to the NLCS, it will be on FOX, again a cable network. Gone are the days when these series were a big enough deal to put them on the regular networks.
Peace,
Muff

Never thought of cable like that! Yes many cannot afford it this year?

Muff - The problem is it's a huge deal! So much money involved, my embattled Orioles are on MASN, not a single game on regular TV.

Kim - It leaves you listening on the radio, or not following it at all. I think that's wrong.

it's the same with Monday Night Football, Andy. I think that is unfair as well. I remember there was a year, before I married John and it was just Mike and I squeaking by on 21K a year, that we couldn't watch the All Star game Home Run Derby--we sat in my car so that we could at least listen to it there. It sucked.

Beth - It's absurd! We better hope for net neutrality or we will have to be sworn in just to find out who won!
