The Boy Broke His Hand, and I'm Feeling Pretty Good, MS and All

Our luck continues, the boy is in the Maryland State Bowling championship, he broke a bone is his hand today. I guess it is lucky, it was his non bowling hand, but give us a break, no pun intended. Took him for Xrays, bone in the back of his left hand is broken almost in two. We go to Union Memorial Hospital hand center on Monday, the place he had surgery last year when he broke the other hand! This wasn't in the brochure.

I'm feeling pretty good, the back is getting stronger, the legs are too, the stimulator even seems to be working better. The 10 mg Prednisone seems to be helping, the wife seems to think so, says I'm moving better. Balance is still an issue, but Mary Lou Retton I never was, so can't complain. Getting outside, seeing all the trees and bushes exploding green, perennials poking up through the ground, don't think that hurts. Planted my trash can potatoes today, but that's another story.

Libby - I'm writing a strongly worded letter to the hospital he was born in, they didn't mention any of this shit!

Diane - He's lucky enough I wouldn't stand next to in a lightning storm.

Andy: Well at least he can still bowl but sorry to read about the bad break.

Glad to see the prednisone is helping so that others comment that you are moving around better. Keep up the good work with getting out. Keeping mobile is key, as you know.

We are getting the garden work done slowly but surely, planting, etc - now all I need is a frost to screw it all up. Happens every year, so I'm waiting until Mother's Day to plant the marigolds, etc.

Trash can potatoes, hmm. How long does it take to get them from planting to the dinner table?

Did you get the email???????????!!!!!!!!!!!! I sent it to gmail and verizon addresses.

Glad you are doing better.

Andy - sorry about your son, but very happy about how good you're feeling. We've been seeing the daffodils and hyacinths around here, always a wonderful site at the end of winter (especially the winter you folks in Baltimore had).

Anne - I'm sorry,I thought I responded to your email, I'm usually not that rude! I'm still trying to figure out the entire routine, but thanks much.

Cranky - Thanks, we just hope this one doesn't need surgery. Damn kids! All the Hostas are up, everything is alive again. Jackie would have already cut most of it down thinking it dead, but I tell her patience Grasshopper.
