Hey everyone, thought I'd give it another go, the break was nice, but I found I missed it! Lot's of changes since the beginning of November. I'm off all medication used for the treatment of MS. The neuros have decided the Rebif wasn't doing anything, so why fuss with the shots anymore. They suggested I may want to look into Tysabri, but it looks pretty much the same as the shots, not for me anymore. The neuro said we are to the point, until something new come out, of doing all we can to make me comfortable.
I got the same report from the back doctor, not too much more to be done, short of surgery. they did another of the spinal injections, but aren't too hopeful of much result. The back dude spoke rather candidly, which was nice, but also somewhat gloomy. Because of the types of surgery they do, and the rehab requirements, I'm not a good candidate, so that may not be on the horizon. He did however give me the largest bottle of pain medicine I've ever seen!
If I have to watch one more pro athlete cry on TV I may lose it? Poor Mark McGuire, He wishes he could go back, but he's sorry... sniffle... but he doesn't think the drugs helped him hit more homeruns. Bite me Mark, they did, get over it! A friend of mine said you didn't see Pete Rose cry, and he's right. Man up Mark, you got paid, be happy with that!
These are the things that make me scratch my head and say "Whaaaaaa"?

The Boy's Bowling, Forgot My Rebif , and Swimming Pool Repair
The wife and boy are at the first night of competition, he just got started. It should be interesting, he was in the hospital last night, twisted his ankle stepping off the curb! It's his left ankle, I thought that made it worse, he says, no, if it had to happen, it was good it was that one. The wife is going to have an ulcer, she really gets wrapped up in it. I do too, but I don't show it as much as she does. I told him I want to see him take his time, look around, do his best, and above all else, have fun! I also told him to every once in a while check his mother's pulse!
I've been doing injections at home for about 12 years now. I did something I haven't done in that 12 years, I forgot to do it last night! In the old days I would have panicked, been on the phone calling around for an answer, but I didn't do it this time. I got online and found about a gazillion answers to my "missed my rebif injection" google. Turns out not to be that big a deal, I take it tonight, Wednesday, and Saturday, then next week go back to my Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday schedule. Can't believe I forgot, the daughter remind me, so it's her fault!
Made the arrangements for the pool liner to be replaced. They are coming Thursday, we went up and bought the liner today. I was putting it off, in part because I wanted to make sure the wife was up to taking care of it, I don't think I am going to be the primary this year, and the cost. It's not so much that it was too expensive, but because of the economy if we should. I worry too much sometimes about money, even though I take care of the bills now, I guess it has to do with not having worked for over 12 years. Anyway, we will have it done on Thursday, and the wife will be able to take a dip on Sunday, she has earned it!

Multiple Sclerosis, Rebif Injections, Cymbalta, and Let It Snow
I am getting so tired of these Rebif injections, they should come out with a nasal mist like the one for the flu. There, I think I took care of the problem nicely, no fuss, no muss, no problem. The one that is really getting me are the days that the shot is in that part of your arm that hangs down, kinda under your bicep. That hurts like hell sometimes, and tonight was one of those nights. It's getting hard to do the one in my rear end too! Ain't that shot in the ass? Well, you know what I mean. It's getting hard to manipulate the injector with one hand, so until I get my way with the mist, I need to keep up with my OT exercises.
I need to check tomorrow about getting another prescription for my nutsy pills, Cymbalta. I know I'm supposed to say I take it for the cramps in my legs, but it's a double doer, it takes care of them both. I'm feeling a little blue, and I want it to go away. When I started taking it originally, I felt great! I think over the last couple of years my body has gotten used to it, so time to up the dose, I guess. It's just that feeling of impending doom I can't shake. Doesn't keep me from doing anything, just makes me slower moving, just what I need! I have a script for the next dose up, but it expired. Wonder if I take it to the pharmacy if they will call the doctor to get the new one?
The boy is pacing around, wondering if there will be school tomorrow because of the snow. I told him they probably wouldn't have it, go ahead and stay up all night! His mother didn't think it was funny. Baltimore County is always the last one to call it, I mean Afrim Shalom has already called it off and I have never even heard of them! I don't think they had any snow days yet, go ahead and do it now so the parents can have a break in the morning. The Naval Academy is 2 hours late and they live there! When I take over the world, this is but one thing that will be greatly improved!

Multiple Sclerosis, Rebif Injections, and Rude People Sucking the Life Out of Me
I had my eval for OT, occupational therapy, and it was cake, as in a piece of. The girl was very sweet, born the month after I got married, so she is a girl. She put me through the paces, hand dynamometor, finger games, asked me if I had problems forgetting things, I of course told her I didn't remember. I have 1/4 the strength with my right hand and arm that I have with the left. She asked what I was looking to gain with therapy and I told her I was looking to regain some strength, but more importantly some dexterity. She seemed surprised that I was functioning at such a "high level", made me chuckle.
Vitamin D night, as well as injection night, and the injection did not go well! I manually inject my legs, mainly because I don't have much padding there and the auto inject goes too deep. Tonight I did something wrong and it hurt like hell! I had to pull it out and start over again. Now I have got to tell you, I don't like the shots, but I've resigned myself they aren't going anywhere, so suck it up and just do it! That doesn't apply to days that you have to redo the stick. Those nights are like a get out of jail free card, I let myself have free run of a good whine. I made more of a fuss than Lincoln at Fords theater, and the entire house knew it. It made me feel better.
I've never smacked an old lady, wanted to, but never have. I was tempted to give it to this old bat at Panera bread this morning. Picture this, I go in through the first set of double doors, open the second set, and there stands this woman and her friend. They are 25 feet away from the register, there is only one person at the register, and they have the entrance blocked with their rather ample girth. I politely asked if they were in line, and she informed they were, but they didn't feel the need to crowd the people in front of them, unlike me. Whaaaaaa? As she turns to to be rude to me, the guy that ran the stop sign and almost hit me went past her to the front of the line. I'm not a huge fan of people, today was no exception.
