Circut Court, Senior Picture, Wii Deception, and a Clean Patio

I have to go to court tomorrow, oh joy. It's going to be a trial, I just hope it will be a court trial, not a jury trial, been there, done that. It got to the point that I didn't find triple murder trials interesting, so a simple 2nd degree assault case will be a real yawner. I could always start trouble at the scanners at the main entrance of the courthouse, that has possibilities. I could demand to see Matlock, refuse to stop yelling his name. Or I could do it like I lived my entire life, get in, get out unnoticed, hoping not to run into anyone, except the guys from the sheriff's office. I do like the Matlock scenario. It reminds me of the time a friend flipped over the railing, drunk at the stadium. While waiting to see the doctor, he kept yelling for Quincy, good times!

The boy got his senior pictures, he looks like a man. He looks nothing at all like me, I'm thinking of asking for a blood test. Even if he was the wrong baby at the hospital, at least he's a good looking bloke, couldn't handle ugly kids.

Played the girl in Wii table tennis return challenge. I think I got hustled? I was a whompin and a stompin my way through the game. She was complaining she never did that badly, I told her to suffer, take it like a man, just like when she was 3 and I beat her little ass in shoots and ladders. She says, one more game, champion of all time, and proceeds to knock me back into the 1950's! Game on, I must break her!

Cleaned up the patio today, all the things the mulch dudes picked up from the yard, and we put there from closing the pool. We are shit accumulators, I've decided that, just this afternoon really. We had everything but a one armed monkey and a shot glass out there. Got to work on putting things away when we're finished with them.

Multiple Sclerosis, Lack of Manners, Victory Gardening, and The Omnivores Dilemma

I got out front and trimmed the bushes today, I think I did a good job, and one I shouldn't have done it, as I was weak kneed and wobbly by the time I was finished. The bushes do look good though, so I suppose it was worth it, and it had to be done. Plus, it was a nice 2 hour nap that followed!

I'm trying to talk the wife into going downtown to the Enoch Pratt Free Library to hear a lecture by Michael Pollan, author of "Omnivores Dilemma" and "In Defense of Food". I like both his style, and the subject. I think we are killing ourselves with our food, Pollan talks about just that. I said if she didn't want to go, just put me on a bus.

My new friend Anne had a good thing on her site
Disabled NOT Dead She said that if you stop in, leave me a note to let me know you were here.

Paul the Hermit agrees with me, people aren't polite, their kids are misbehaved, and they are passing it down to the next generation.

I haven't worn the brace now for 4 weeks, that's nice, but I'm still not there yet. I'm still weak, still unsteady, I need to loosen up too. I am serious about getting Wii yoga, I think it I need someone to stretch me out, one of those Helga looking Swish women.

We are having a victory garden meeting here on Saturday, if you find yourself in the neighborhood, stop in and see what we are up to. I'm gong to put together an idiot tub so everyone can see how easy it is. Should be a hoot.

Rebif time, remember, leave a short note so I know who was here, I'd appreciate it!

Multiple Sclerosis, Too Much Wii is a Bad Thing, and Bermuda Here I come

I think I overWiied yesterday? If I Wiied until I died, would that be Wiiuicide? My legs are rebelling, my hands asked for a divorce, and my entire body has the jumps, but other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play? The main problem in my right leg is in my hip and knee, I mean besides the part where the ankle doesn't work with the foot drop. Everything is so weak, I need to build up the knee and hip so the stimulator has the opportunity to do its thing, right now the stim is firing, but the upper leg is fighting the process. I will get there, if not with my Wiiercise, it will be something!

We are going on a cruise in June to the Bermuda. I am looking forward to it, never been on a cruise, never been to Bermuda either. I actually have been to very few places now that I think about it. In the ancient past I didn't go because I didn't want to. In the recent past I wasn't sure if I should, not sure if I can fly, that feeling of falling and all. I'm really looking forward to the trip, not so much for the trip itself, but because I want to get away from home. When I was still working, I looked forward to being off work, and getting away. Now I have a better appreciation for why my mother didn't like going camping when I was a kid. I need to get away from this house, from dinner at 6, from doing laundry, I need to get away from here! I'm practicing lounge chairing right now, doing well!

Multiple Sclerosis, Exercising With Wii, and Teaching People to Garden

I love the idea of people helping each other, I suppose I'm just a big softy. There are some pretty cool ideas people have for spreading their good ideas, and their good know how. There is a group based in DC called City Blossoms, they educate area children the benefits, and techniques of gardening. They teach preschool age through teens how to plan and nurture a garden, from plant choices to composting. I think the closet I came to anything like that was when we put a marigold in a styrofoam cup when I was in preschool? (OK, I didn't go to preschool, and I'm pretty sure I never grew anything in a styrofoam cup, but I know some people did!) I am going to figure out a way of showing people how to sustain themselves, and eat healthy too, way to go City Blossoms!

We got a Wii entertainment system this weekend, it's pretty cool the way it works. I set up my character, a dashing grey haired dude with glasses. I am hoping it gives me an opportunity to exercise and not get bored. I was bowling today, played tennis, and a round of golf. My balance is so bad, I think I may need to wear a helmet in the basement! I was soaking wet when I finished 10 rounds of boxing, a real aerobic work out! I'm trying to figure out if I'm better with the stimulator on, or with it off? I am researching what is the best game, possibly the Wii Yoga, or Wii fitness for my comeback tour? Playing a video game sure beats riding an exercise bike!
